"Light Up the Night With Holiday Spirit" Parade in Downtown Suffolk

The City of Suffolk 2011 Downtown Holiday Parade will take place Saturday, December 10, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. The last evening parade in Suffolk was held in 2005 and was considered a resounding success by the nearly 3,500 spectators who enjoyed the celebration. With this years “Light up’ theme, the parade will surely be a bright and festive spectacle worth seeing!

Along with the time change, the city has selected a new parade route that encompasses most of historic downtown. Groups taking part in the holiday showcase include a variety of motorized vehicles, horses, specialty groups, dancers, floats and marching bands. Even Santa has committed to join the parade — to the delight of everyone! The event is free and open to the public.
